Sarah Flower Adams was an English actress and hymn writer whose devotional poetry expressed themes of trust, surrender, and spiritual longing. Her writing reflected deep personal faith and emotional sensitivity.
Her most famous hymn is Nearer My God to Thee, which became one of the most widely recognized hymns of the nineteenth century.
