Biography of Louis Bourgeois

Louis Bourgeois was a French composer whose work on the Genevan Psalter shaped Reformed worship. His melodies displayed clarity, strength, and devotional character.

He composed the tune Old Hundredth, one of the most widely recognized melodies in Christian worship.

Bourgeois collaborated with John Calvin and other leaders of the Reformed tradition to develop congregational psalm singing.
