Biography of Elisabeth Elliot

Elisabeth Elliot was an American missionary and author whose work in Ecuador brought global attention to the challenges and sacrifices of mission life. After her husband Jim Elliot was killed during an outreach attempt, she continued serving among the very people who had taken his life.

Elliot used hymns and scripture based songs during teaching sessions and encouraged local believers to develop worship practices rooted in their own language and culture. Her books often reference the comfort she found in hymns during hardship.

She collaborated with indigenous women, mission partners, and translators who supported her work among the Waorani people.
