Biography of Martin Luther

Martin Luther was a German reformer whose theological writings and musical contributions shaped Protestant worship. He believed strongly in congregational singing and encouraged the creation of hymns that expressed core doctrines in accessible language.

His hymns include A Mighty Fortress Is Our God and From Depths of Woe I Cry to You. These hymns became defining expressions of Reformation faith.

Luther collaborated with musicians and theologians in Wittenberg to produce hymnals that supported congregational participation.
